Today is the big day for the BlackBerry Bold to be released on Rogers. There were rumors that the launch would be delayed but those rumors turned out to be false. You can now order your BlackBerry Bold from Roger's web site, but some stores may or may not have them in stock.

Rogers has announced they will start offering the BlackBerry Bold on Thursday, August 21, 2008.
RIM CEO Jim Balsillie told Reuters that the Bold will cost between $300 and $400.

The Rogers version of the BlackBerry Bold has its price. Without a contract it will set you back a whopping $649. With a 3-year agreement it will set you back $399. These prices seem quite high for this device, and could cause new BlackBerry converts to look at devices like the BlackBerry Curve, or look elsewhere.

An AT&T Business web site lists the BlackBerry Bold and says it will be out later this year. No firm date is given for the release of the BB Bold, but as you can see on the web site, the Bold will hit AT&T sometime this year.
"The BlackBerry Bold 9000 is expected to be available later this year, exclusively from AT&T in the United States."
If you really, really want a Bold now you'll either need to starting handing around John Mayer, or head to Chile where the Bold is on the loose.

Research in Motion has been dominating the market in the US with 44.5 percent market share last year. That is not the case in Asia however. According to Springboard Reasearch Windows Mobile is much more dominant in Asia.

The BlackBerry Javelin will replace the BlackBerry Curve when it's released. Interestingly, there will be no 3G support, but the Javelin will have GPS and WiFi. CrackBerry has posted some nice pictures of the device that you can see at the link below.
