G1?
I like how he mentions the G1 as a competitor in this context. The G1 uses the same exact track ball as the BlackBerry. Six months from now, we'll be hearing the same complaints about the G1 =)

Blackberry Trackball Problem
When my trackball does this I take a Q-tip or kleenex with rubbing alcohol or acetone (Fingernail polish remover) and put a little on the trackball and roll it around, This cleans all the dirt and the contacts at the same time and then it works fine again. 2 1/2 years without a failure.
